I want to add just one thing to my routine. Afterall, how long has it been since I pushed myself? I garden and shop, play tennis, cook and clean, go on adventures, help family, read, pray, craft and create, write and do many other activities. I keep very busy, moving from one endeavor right into another and the days slip by rapidly. Time to spice things up. Should I paint daily or walk daily or maybe get more serious about reading. Just 30 pages a day translates to a book a week!
About a year ago I had the idea to begin a daily habit of harvesting herbs because although I was growing them, I was only occasionally using them. That has blossomed into daily additions to my drinking water and periodic gathering in quantity to dry and store herbs. I have an apothecary now to treat many conditions. I also have expanded my understanding of so many more plants used for teas, oils, and tinctures beyond the basic basil, thyme, oregano, rosemary, and chives.
Seasons for Just One Thing
Cooler days are here this week and should continue with beautiful Fall days quickly approaching. It makes sense to get a daily walk going. When it gets colder I can put time into painting, an indoor activity. Early morning is my favorite time of day so tomorrow morning I will hit the road anticipating all sorts of interesting results in the days ahead.
An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.
