Choosing to pause rather than pull the trigger may open up possibilities for what is right in front of you. Maybe just a reframing of thoughts leads to a revelation. A slight redefinition, a tweak, acceptance of what has changed, can yield positive results. I could chop down the treasured Sassafras that apparently died in the ice storm this year. Seems pretty obvious…but let’s consider it first.

See the Possibilities
G'bye old Sassafras
You gave up the ghost
Ice storm too much
No life to this post
Landmark of patio
Bulwark of space
What now will beckon?
Nothing can replace
Personality, plus
Bonsai'd often.
Ladder loppering.
Now a coffin
Handcut moon dangles
Four feet of beads
Artsy cross exhibit
Here creativity breeds
Possibly alive
Days ago buds
Dry as a bone
Probably duds
Prune to rack
For cross and moon
"Watering hole" sign
Could hang it soon
Odd, maybe ugly
Or kitschy and cute
Eye of beholder
For sure a hoot!
Do I want an oversized, natural rack? I will have to go get that hand carved restaurant sign and hold it up to see how it looks. The tree could be a sign post as it is directly across from the bar. Regardless, now I am good. I got to write a poem, have fodder for a written post, and as always, see the possibilities. How about you?
