I can write a poem to share my favorite bible verse, that is what I can do today! So many organizations, businesses, and individuals are expressing outrage and support through dialogue, resources they provide, lists of books to read, accounts to fund, and targeted businesses to buy from. Have you made any steps to gather, protest, learn, support or change? Yesterday I was visiting Chattanooga, walking with my family through the most beautiful park on the river. I appreciated the sweet prayerful groups, many of them, each with 4 to maybe 10 in a circle, praying quietly together. This brought me to this post and poem writing to share today.

What Can I Do

Let me lead with love.
Today let every thought, each act
With prayer Dear God above,
Be filtered and quite exact.

Better all things I can do today
Bless my choices, small and great,
Your guard for heart, legacy, and after,
Words from Philippians 4:8

whatsoever things are noble, 
whatsoever things are just, 
whatsoever things are pure, 
whatsoever things are lovely, 
whatsoever things are of good      report; 
if there be any virtue, and if     there be any praise, 
think on these things.”

Beware assumptions and            condemnations,
Bold statements made as pretense   sleuths,
Casual verdicts and               categorizations,
None of these are likely truths.

Praying for honest transactions
Equal opportunity and remuneration
Precipitated by noble work,
Dedication, soulful contribution.

Call revelations out directly.
Stay just in the lane.
Eye for eye, but not knee to neck
Enable equity not pain.

Remain pure in heart and mind.
Listen to world news and see
Chaos seeking order and amends,
Hate, crime, participation, not    meant to be.

Good works, hard work, learning,
Being, lovely as a posey.
Rest, prayer, nurture,
All in all, soulfully cozy.

Oh the good to report!
How hard one has persisted.
Well done, well done indeed!
No misstep, every excuse resisted.

Virtue lies in empathy for
a transgressors' evil confessed.
Embrace, help, lift one another,
Praise, tend to craze expressed.

Think on these things.
Teach the children. 
Better all things I can do today,
Systematize them now for then.
