Oh, I love the change of seasons! I grab the cushion and quilt and blanket from the front porch because I’m not sitting out there much as the weather gets colder, making space on the bench for holiday pillows. It feels good to clear things, get them washed up and stored away, ready to put back out again in the spring. I feel ready for change and excited by it.
Fall flowers and leaves wither making space, clearing the way for Light. What needs clearing? Household, garden, emotions, trauma, dust, time, skin, mind, projects, habits?

Awhile back I made some cards. They each have a word that has meaning for me and all the words begin with an “S”. I painted an entire sheet then cut it up and added words. They are pretty; prettier than the photo! When I sit down to paint or reflect … I can pull a card, then pause and think. I have decided to add a paragraph of sorts and practice “slow drawing” on the backs. The first back I have completed is inspired by how Fall naturally is making space, showing me the way. I’m not happy with how I wrote “space” on the front … but I will figure out a way to improve it. Maybe collage over it!
Lately I am approaching each day “ruthlessly” as mom use to say as she was gathering giveaway for goodwill to make space for new things. I am ruthlessly tackling projects from my to do list with an attitude of, “it ends here”, meaning, attack for the cross off and stop dilly dallying around.
My first coup was a bin of confidential writing needing burned, too much to shred. It felt so good to get that done and crossed off. Additionally, unexpectedly I felt like I let go of some trauma associated with that time period making space for happier days ahead. The bin became empty, much lighter, with space for organizing items in the garage that are keepers.
I gravitate to the light for spiritual wellness. Making space pushes me further on that path. The change of seasons has me feeling lighter and hopeful. I hope you are excited too!!!
